Great software for music teachers of music composers.  A little expensive but there are lots of shared lesson plans online.

Apple iLife 09’
This software comes with every new Apple computer as part of the OS.  It features the new GarageBand 09’ which includes the ability to take music lessons with “Sting”, “Norah Jones”, “John Fogerty”, Sarah McLachlan” and other famous musician/composers.  An incredible teaching software that comes FREE with the computer.  Can’t beat it!

Great software to get children started enjoying and composing music in early years.  Great intro to the full Sibelius and GarageBand softwares used in Middle and High School.

Morton Subotnick’s  - Hearing Music software 
large catalogue of titles - great software for younger and middle year programs
gets children enjoying and composing music before they can play an instrument or learn to read.
